So today was election day here in El Salvador....umm yeah....let me kinda recap some things for you:
-There are only 2 parties here in El Salvador...and thats a REPUBLICAN and a SOCIALIST/COMMUNIST party.
-The republican party called ARENA has been in power for about 20 years. The communist party is FMLN and hasn't been in power for like ever...then again they ARE guerillas.
-The POOR people are DEMANDING change b/c ARENA has not provided them with anything in the past 20 years.
So, this is the part where the shit hit the fan.... Ever since the presidential campaign began, there were two candidates....one was an idiot, the other was actually and educated man. The problem is that the educated one is actually from the communist party so you kinda see the problem.
I liked the candidate, it was the party he was fronting that i didn't like. So of course, they use the fact that since in the USA Obama stood for change...here Mauricio Funes also stands for change. And i know you're all probably wondering why him being president is such a problem...well:
1. Even though he claims to be a man that won't let others interfere with his presidency, i highly doubt it. DO YOU REALLY THINK THAT A PARTY, WHOM FOR YEARS HAS TRIED TO TURN THE COUNTRY INTO A SOCIALIST/COMMUNIST NATION LIKE CUBA, WILL REALLY STAND IDLE AND NOT HAVE THEIR SAY?
2. The problem isn't really Fidel, it's Chavez. He seems to have contributed money to the FMLN for their presidential campaign...and it IS worrisome b/c i mean really unless you've been living underneath a ROCK these past couple of years, you have to have at least heard about CHAVEZ and how he's a DOUCHE.
3.The rich people are FUCKING COWERING IN THEIR BOOTS and don't know what the fuck to do with themselves b/c they will probably get most of their MONEY taken away from them (and actually is was BOUT DAMN TIME too, fucking rich people think they can just fuck people over...they should fucking help all the homeless and poor we have).
So now, we (I) hope that it will all turn out for the better. We'll see how this ends and I'll keep you guys updated just in case i have to flee the country b/c it gets bad T_T
